Baklava Bliss Nut Butter

Watch out, this stuff is dangerous! Inspired by chocolate baklava, this nut butter is bursting with flavor and has a rich decadent texture. Fragrant toasted pistachios and walnuts are the perfect pairing with Calm Cacao Superblend which is packed with powerful herbal extracts and spices including cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves! 

The ways to eat this are endless, but my favorite way is BY THE SPOONFUL! Or, when I'm feeling virtuous, on a piece of hearty whole grain toast!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup shelled pistachios, toasted 
  • 1 cup walnuts, toasted 
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons JOYÀ’s Calm Cacao Superblend 
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup, honey or date syrup
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toast the pistachios and walnuts in the oven until fragrant, 10-12 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  3. Combine cooled nuts with the remaining ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until you’ve reached the texture of a smooth nut butter.
  4. Cover and store nut butter in an airtight container or jar at room temperature for up to 1 month.

Serving ideas:

  • Spread on toast or pancakes with desired toppings
  • Add to smoothies
  • Enjoy with dried dates or apricots
  • Eat with fresh sliced apples or bananas
